So maybe you’re a gamer. Maybe you’re aspiring to be a game developer one day. Maybe you’re a psychologist trying to get “Desire to Make Video Games” labeled as a psychiatric disorder.

One way or another, you’ve asked yourself questions about how exactly game developers do what they do, why they think the way they do, and the skills they’ve acquired to make their dream a (buggy, dysfunctional) reality.

And that’s what Anatomy of a Gamedev is all about.

It’s a brand-spanking-new ongoing series from the staff at Last Token Gaming (spearheaded by your lovable host, Isaac), about individual aspects of game developers and the process of making a game. We’re not going to teach you to make games. We’re not going to encourage (or discourage) you to make games. But if you’re interested in finding out how game developers do it, the skills you’ll need to be successful, and a smattering of sarcastic jokes, lame puns, and quotes from actual developers, then you’ve come to the right place.

But! We, the writers at Last Token Gaming, need you, dear reader! Leave us comments. Discuss! Do you like the idea? Do you think it’s absolute garbage? (It’s okay if you do, but please leave us your address so we can egg your house.) What aspects of development would you like us to cover? Marketing? Programming? Online Dating? You be the decider! To do that, though, you’ve got to comment. Be involved! Let your voice be heard! Tell me what you want, what you really, really want.

And as always, while you’re waiting for the next installment of “Anatomy of a Gamedev”…

Keep gaming, friends.
