Terry Randolph – No Man’s Sky (Playstation 4), Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (Xbox One)

Well, after this upcoming weekend I’ll have been on stage for the first time in a long, long time. What a journey it has been! I have definitely learned that this is something I want to continue doing so, and hopefully can once I return from Singapore. That said, this week I’m going to be exploring more of No Man’s Sky and jumping into Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. Just Cause 3, while having moments of fun, has gotten me to a point where I feel like I need to take an indefinite break from it.

No Man’s Sky, whether or not people believe it lived up to hype (spoiler: no game would live up to that hype), has been refreshing and exciting. The slowed down pacing, push for exploration and resource management, has created a game that keeps me glued to my seat. I’ve only been on maybe 5 planets, but I find myself wanting to explore as much of the land as possible. It’s also been fun scanning and naming plants, creatures, etc.

I’ve been wanting to play Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate for a while because, while I hated Unity and said I wouldn’t buy a game, I’m a sucker for the series. I’m hoping this game vastly improves from the dredge that was Unity and provides a better game. We’ll see…

Ben Fitzgerald – Baldur’s Gate, FallOut (PC), Mass Effect 2 (360)

Our brave hero of Candlekeep struggles to make his way as his companions fall right and left.  Poor Khalid fell to wave after wave of xvarts, and both the brave Minsc and knavish bard Garrick fell in the assault on the gnoll stronghold in an attempt to save the mage Dynaheir. Sadly, she was slain shortly afterward by two well-aimed arrows from a hobgoblin. Once again, I am left with my childhood friend Imoen as my only companion.

Almost finished with yet another run through ME2. Mordin Solus had the nerve to get himself killed during the suicide mission, so I loaded an earlier save file. Bad doctor. I’m also downloading the original FallOut. The game is a classic legend, and I am seriously overdue checking it out, especially considering that both of my brothers played the game over a decade ago!

Check out the link. It was a game jam game for low-res games.

Jake Rushing – Punch Out (Wii), Arkanoid (NES)

Since the last time I played Punch Out, I’m already 2/3rds of the way through Title Defense, and I’m already on Soda Popinsky. Title defense is always harder than the first time through, and he’s always landing punches before I can think.

And while Punch Out is pretty energetic, I wanted to play something relaxing to offset the energy, which is why I decided to play Arkanoid.
