Terry Randolph – Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 and 3 (Steam/PC), Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (Xbox One), FallOut 4 (Xbox One), Danganronpa (PS Vita) – I know that’s a lot of games to take on for one week, and it looks like I haven’t been making any progress (the list is pretty identical to last week). The bright side? Since I was sick yesterday my friend Chelsea and I have blown through ⅗ of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (will review). However, in order for me to be able to enjoy Fire Emblem: Fates coming out soon, I have to finish at least Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and maybe 3  if I can. With over 50 hours into Fallout 4, and hundreds of hours more to go, I know I’ll be falling behind in terms of a decent pace for my Backlog Challenge, and large part of it is due to a work exam that I’ve been studying for. However, come Friday, I should definitely be able to put more time into gaming as well as more time into writing and spending time with my partner as well as I got the ideal wand vibrator just for this day. Hopefully during the trek to Washington this weekend to visit family I can finish off Danganronpa.

Jake Rushing – Kirby’s Dreamland 2 (Gameboy), Super Smash Bros (Wii U) Super Mario Land 2 (Gameboy), Deadpool (Xbox 360) – For the sake of completing the backlog, I will finish Kirby’s Dreamland 2 and get started on Super Mario Land 2. In order to warm up for the movie this Thursday, I’ll play a little bit of Deadpool here and there. In between, I will start prepping for an Amiibo tournament by training my Little Mac and my girlfriend’s Yoshi Amiibos. Of course, I’ll do a little training myself and train my Mario and Pac Man Amiibos. This will help me improve my game, as well as learning a little more on how Corrin, Cloud, and Bayonetta play.

JAK2

Marshall Garvey – Jak II (PS2): Now here’s one I’m overdue on playing! Recently during my shift at Dimple Records, a mom brought her kid in asking for a game that’s a healthy, kid-friendly alternative to Grand Theft Auto. She had been told the Jak series fits that bill, so I took her over to the PS2 shelf and gave her a copy of Jak II for her son (as well as Kingdom Hearts, which she had never heard of but enthusiastically bought when given a primer on what it’s about). I then remembered that I’ve had my own copy of Jak II for quite some time, as it had been given to me by one of my best friends, Jonathon Atchley. But for whatever stupid reason, I had never gotten around to playing it. After a long day of multiple writing projects (including the transcript of our interview with local dev Nascent Games), I decided to finally pop it into my PS2, and was hooked right away. It’s got everything a platformer needs: Vast, detailed settings, instantly accessible controls, an intricate story, and a two-in-one protagonist pair in the vein of Banjo and Kazooie. Especially with Killer7’s plethora of cryptic challenges that get me stuck fairly frequently, I think Jak II will be a welcome fixture in my PS2 for awhile.

blood and bacon
Sean Willis – Blood and Bacon (Steam/PC), Brutal Doom starter map pack (PC, mod):
Brutal Doom as said by a couple famous gaming personalities, “is the violent version of doom” think about that a moment. Extra blood, finishing moves that give health, weapons with new features, aiming down sights, NPC team mates the works. The mod has been around a good long while but recently a starter pack was released which are made to make use of the GZDoom
